The Naked Truth
Good morning.
I am waking up at the studio in Atlanta as we speak and feeling pretty good.
We finished our EP. After 2 days of long sessions we finally finished it and it sounds KILLER. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. It felt really good to just sit down and go back to recording acoustic and building new songs from scratch. It was a good experience. We had the help of Dan Dixon, he engineered the session and we had a great time with him.
Yesterday we were invited to speak and play at a friends company meeting. It was interesting to talk about team work and collaboration and song writing and relate it to people management and resolving issues and getting tasks done in the medical field. It was a good experience for me because by talking to people about it made me realize how important it is in my life to be a musician and have the ability to share my thoughts freely and help people though music. Mushy stuff, but it was very empowering.
So, now that the EP is done, the music video is being edited. Once thats done we will release the EP for sale ONLINE ONLY. So keep checking back, it will be very soon. This set of songs are a very new concept to me. I hope you guys like them.
We leave tomorrow for 2 shows in AL and GA and then we go back to FL to get ready for tour. Im still a bit sleepy so are my writing skills, but check back here in a couple of days and I will have some more exciting news for you guys.

One day at a time, hey?
I am starting to realize that the more I think about something the more it wont happen.
Here is to just living life one day at a time.
Tomorrow I have a busy day ahead of me:
Will be filming the music video to be released with the EP. Its going to be a song from the EP for sort of a sneak peek and a good way to launch off the EP.
Also tomorrow night we are playing at Sacred Grounds in tampa. For those of you who don’t know, Sacred Grounds was actually the place that gave me a chance to be a musician. For the first two years of my career I had a residency there every thursday night. Karen ( the owner of SG) gave me a chance and place to play my new material, sell cds and really develop into a musician.
It will be a good day. Full of productive activities.
See you at Sacred.

It has been a strange and emotional week.
A lot of technical stuff, dealing with tour, dates, mailing out promo materials, cds, looking for a new van, getting things ready and in place to go up and record the EP, all kinds of business stuff.
Emotionally its been a wrecking week and I am exhausted. I like that I am independent and have a lifestyle where I get to go as I please, but that also means I don’t have many friends because my job doesn’t allow time to keep up with people. It gets a little lonely on a day like today, I’d like to go out and see a movie, or get a drink, or go and watch a band, but I don’t have anyone to go with. Instead, I’ll just continue chucking away at my career stuff and hopefully something good will happen by the end of the night.
Im feeling weird, very alienated, but I also don’t want to be around anyone. Its strange, having so much to deal with on a personal level, and not having any shows, because normally I would go to the gig and play and feel better, because thats my purpose in life, but when I don’t have that and I feel like this, I can’t even write. Its like having the bad case of the butterflies in the stomach that feel more like palmetto bugs, constantly. Its overwhelming.
Anyhow, I am going to look at a van today. Hopefully this will be the one for us. And I will have a mechanic with me, which is a big relief for everyone involved.
wish me luck.
Nervous,
Lil X.
ps. i got a new friend on my arm to keep me company and remind me where my heart is at.

I turned into an Owl
Soon after you left, I turned into an owl…
Goodmorning friends,
Its strange, when I had a day job, I couldn’t sleep past 7am, because I had trained myself to wake up for work. Now I wake up right at 10am, because they always want us to check out of hotels by 11. ha
Tonight we’ll be playing at Cappy’s in tampa. here is a link to the event. It will be our first time playing there, but it will be a good one- its their anniversary party. Come on out! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=143523612339921&ref=ts
We are deep into booking September and October dates with Justin from the band Mousefire ( http://myspace.com/mousefire) they will be taking us on their tour in November as support. Im excited to be getting into these markets and play for new folks that have never heard us. Everything is slowly starting to fall into place.
In october we will be going back to our song writing home of Sturgeon Bay to take a part in the Dark Songs Festival. I can’t wait to go back. Its always rehab for me.
Im posting our dates as they are confirmed. Please take a look at our calendar/ tour page to see where we will be, again we’ll be taking on half the country in a matter of months so I want to make sure that if we are in your area, you know that we’re coming!
Ive been writing heavily the last couple of weeks which is going to result in an online ONLY release of our acoustic EP which we will be recording at the end of August. Im excited to go back to the acoustic roots, if you can call it that. Soon Ill have more info on that for you soon.
Its a whole bunch of preparation for a whole bunch of doing. The world is spinning round and we’re all just going with the flow.
We have some good shows coming up in the tampa bay are so please come on out if you’re around and free.
Today we go thrift hunting.
adios
