To whom it may concern, here is the truth….

To whom it may concern:

I would like to set the public record straight as to the dealings of last night.

First, thank you so much for coming and being a part of it. I spent so much time preparing for this night, making the cds, making sure all looked well, slide show, lights (with the help and generosity of JThor Productions), promoting and having a lengthy sound check to make sure all works. Technical things aside, I was just excited as all hell to put out another cd and play a show in my home town because it always feels good.

I have been battling what seems to be the flu this whole week and although I though I’d be ok, I apparently wasn’t.

So, to set the record straight, NO I did not get drunk, wasted, sloshed or blazed. I was sick. My voice was gone during soundcheck but then started to come back during our first acoustic set, and by the last song my arm from the elbow down all the way to the tips of my fingers cramped ( which is why I stopped playing ) and my vocal cords felt like they were strung on so tight they would snap. EmergenC, flu meds, and a lost voice was my combination for disaster.

To recap: I was not drunk, or intoxicated. I was sick and still am, which is why I walked back stage and cried. This was the first show I have never finished and I am so so sorry. I feel like I’ve failed you guys, but there was no way for me to finish.

Thank you again for coming out, and if you didn’t get a chance to grab an EP, they are still for sale here on our website under the store tab.

I hope last night was not a discouragement to coming to my shows in the future. I hope I’m allowed a bad night and a sick day in this industry.

Love you all

Geri, you are simply human and not just deserve but require rest. That is why show cancellations are made for :) Your fans will understand: you can always make it up with an extra set at the next show lol

  • Lisa:

Hi Geri. You were great last night. We all knew you weren’t feeling well, and you still managed to play two sets. It was awesome, and we had a really nice time. Your music is so beautiful, loving the new cd. Hope you’re feeling better real soon. We’ll be thinking of you.

  • Ryan:

You did your best. That is all that your true fans will expect from you. Hope you get well soon and kill it at the next show. – Ryan

  • Two things:

Those who matter won’t mind and those who mind don’t matter.

Success isn’t never falling down, it’s never staying down when you do.

    Feel better!

Don’t worry bout what people say. Its all freedom of choice and any fan of yours would understand that you were sick and couldn’t finish. Haters are everywhere just remember that your true fans understand and don’t judge you for being human. We love your music and thats what matters most.

Just keep making that music sing

  • Kirby (and Phillip):

    Hey Geri
Sorry Phillip, SJ and I couldn’t make it last night. So sorry you weren’t feeling well. PLEASE take care of yourself and get better real soon. We know you’re a tough cookie and you had to be feeling really bad not to finish a show. All you friends and fans understand. We will try to make it Ybor on Weds. if you’re feeling better. Looking forward to getting your new EP. Thanks for continuing to make beautiful music.
    Peace,
    Kirby, Phillip and Sara-Jane

PS Got some scratch-off tix for ya :-)

That happens to everyone at sometime or another. I remember the Counting Crows canceling on their first tour through Jannus Landing…but they are still one of my favorites. I’ll be at Fly Bar and you made my week after seeing you last night at Rock the Park. Thanks.
